The hospital manages a vast range of patients with complex General Medicine issues and is developing as a centre of excellence for teaching, training and research and will provide clinicians with excellent professional development and research opportunities. It has fantastic new infrastructure which includes a new helipad, a fabulous new ED, a critical care unit, refurbished the theatres and general wards along with brand new medical and surgical assessment units and outpatients areas.
The Medical team has already started on the development of an acute medical unit, rapid access clinics, ambulatory care, telehealth and ward-based subspecialties. In general medicine at Bunbury the caseload is wide and mixed - from paeds to geriatrics. Therefore they are looking for General Medicine physicians and/or Physicians with subspecialty interests in one of the following - neurology/stroke med, cardiology, endo, gastro, infectious diseases, renal medicine, rheumatology, medical oncology, gerontologists and nephrologists.
The scope of the job involves the delivery of general medicine services at Bunbury hospital and potentially at neighbouring facilities. This includes direct clinical care, the mentoring, teaching and supervision of junior medical colleagues, undertaking research and clinical governance initiatives.

Selection criteria includes but is not limited to:
*FRACP or equivalent.
*Expert experience in general medicine in hospital settings.
*Evidence of a commitment to clinical teaching.
*Experience in quality improvement initiatives.
*Effective and collaborative team management skills.
