Working at Bunbury Hospital is a rewarding, community focused and friendly experience. The hospital is developing as a centre of excellence for teaching, training and research and will provide clinicians with excellent professional development and research opportunities. It has fantastic new infrastructure which includes a new helipad, a fabulous new ED, a critical care unit, refurbished the theatres and general wards along with brand new medical and surgical assessment units and outpatients areas.

 

 

The Medical team has already started on the development of an acute medical unit, rapid access clinics, ambulatory care, telehealth and ward-based subspecialties. In general medicine at Bunbury the caseload is wide and mixed - from paeds to geriatrics. This position provides a high-quality clinical service to older age patients with disabilities and frailty. Working within a multidisciplinary team you will lead the review of aged care rehabilitation and medical needs of patients. You will also work with another hospital for aged care rehabilitation with community assessments and working with Orthogeriatric services and rehab in the home programs.

*Remuneration package of up to $461k - depending on number of years of specialist experience.

Selection criteria includes but is not limited to:

*FRACP or equivalent specialist training in geriatric medicine

*Expert experience in geriatrics in a range of settings. 

*Evidence of a commitment to clinical teaching. 

*Experience in quality improvement initiatives.

*Effective and collaborative team management skills.
