Mackay Base Hospital is a state-of-the-art regional hospital located in a sunny coastal setting, just a 1.5-hour flight from Brisbane. An opportunity is available for a Paediatric Consultant, assessed by RACP as substantially comparable. Mackay Base Hospitals Child & Adolescent Health Unit provides 12 funded paediatric beds plus a special care nursery.

 

 

Your Role

  • As Paediatrician (Staff or Senior Staff Specialist) you will:
  • Provide high-quality clinical paediatric services across inpatient and community settings.
  • Lead service delivery in child, adolescent and neonatal care.
  • Contribute to education and supervision of junior doctors, nursing and allied health staff.
  • Participate in quality improvement, audit, research and service development.
  • Work in a family-centred healthcare model with opportunities for academic collaboration.

 

 


Remuneration Package Highlights 

  • Up to $571k + on - call/overtime a package which includes:
  • Motor Vehicle allowance $23-$28k depending on salary band - paid.
  • 3.6 weeks professional development leave. 
  • $22k professional development allowance - paid.
  • Very generous salary sacrifice arrangements
  • Employer paid tax free pension contributions - 12.75%
