This hospital and health service is seeking a committed and experienced Respiratory Physician to join its growing department in one of New South Wales' most important regional referral hospitals. As the Respiratory Physician, you will:
- Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient respiratory care, including a 1 in 3 respiratory consultation service and 1 in 12 general medical on-call roster.
- Perform advanced procedures including bronchoscopy and intercostal chest drain insertions.
- Manage patients requiring acute non-invasive ventilation and contribute to integrated care models across the region.
- Provide clinical leadership in collaboration with a team of specialists, scientists, and nursing staff.
- Supervise, mentor and educate junior doctors and trainees as part of the department’s commitment to quality education and safe clinical practice.
- Actively engage in quality improvement, risk management and departmental development.
You’ll join a progressive Respiratory Department comprising:
- Two full-time Respiratory Physicians
- One full-time Respiratory Scientist
- One Respiratory Clinical Nurse Consultant
This team is central to a developing model of care that supports Dubbo and the broader Western NSW region, integrating specialist input across inpatient, outpatient and outreach services.
We're looking for a specialist who brings:
- FRACP or equivalent gained in UK, Ireland, Canada, USA or someone who has already been assessed favourably by RACP.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Respiratory Medicine and general medicine service participation
- A passion for teaching, leadership, research and collaborative care
- First class and strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Availability to participate in the on-call roster and provide timely on-site responses when required.
