Rural Director Medical Services

 

This is an exciting senior medical management leadership position in New South Wales. 

 

This NSW health service is a large regional public health organisation which prides itself on the delivery of first class care in a large, diverse rural environment.

As Rural DMS , the key challenges which you will be asked to surmount include:

 

  • Managing competing priorities within tight deadlines and varying complexity.
  • Working effectively and productively with others.
  • Ensuring the implementation of health service policy.
  • Resolving clinical coordination issues whilst balancing clinical demands in a resource short public sector environment.
  • Managing medical workforces and patient flow across a large geographical region. 

 

Selection Criteria

 

  • AHPRA registration.
  • FRACMA or working towards.
  •  Comprehensive knowledge of and commitment to a public health system's safety, quality, risk management, change management, improvement systems.
  •  Comprehensive understanding of clinical care and various clinical models of care associated clinical information systems and expertise managing reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary health issues, rural healthcare priorities and reform agendas within the NSW Health system to manage medical workforce, and industrial requirements for medical officers.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, especially with senior medical practitioners and clinicians.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership as part of the senior management team, and ability to engage medical staff.
  • Applicable driving licence.
