An exciting opportunity for a Consultant Anaesthetist to join a well-supported service in Wagga Wagga, NSW.

 

 

Total Remuneration is up to $440k, including on-call allowances.

Wagga Wagga Base Hospital is a major regional referral hospital in southern New South Wales, serving the wider Riverina community. The hospital has recently undergone a significant redevelopment, delivering modern clinical facilities across approximately 325 beds. An opportunity is available for a Consultant Anaesthetist to join a well-established and supportive multidisciplinary team providing high-quality perioperative and critical care services to the local population.

 

 

Remuneration Package Highlights

  • A package of up to $440k, which includes:
  • A generous Private Practice Allowance
  • 12% employer-paid superannuation

  • Sign-on bonus dependent on contract

Scope of Practice

  • Provide anaesthetic services across a broad range of specialties including general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, endoscopy and emergency surgery.
  • Deliver perioperative care including pre-anaesthetic assessment, intraoperative management and postoperative review.
  • Participate in the on-call roster and provide emergency anaesthetic support as required.
  • Provide clinical supervision, teaching and support to junior medical staff, trainees and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Participate in quality improvement, audit and clinical governance activities to support safe and effective patient care.

 

 

Selection Criteria

  • Assessed as Substantially Comparable (SC) by ANZCA, or eligible for the ESP.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver evidence-based, high-quality anaesthetic care across a broad range of clinical settings.
  • Commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in teaching, supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff and trainees.
