Job highlights
- The surgical portfolio includes Orthopaedics with joint replacements and general procedures, General Surgery covering laparoscopic procedures, bowel resections, hernias, and gastroenterology cases, Dental Surgery, Urology procedures, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology including labour epidural support.
- As a Level 4 service, you'll handle the full spectrum from ASA 1-2 patients in complex major procedures to ASA 3-5 patients across common, intermediate, and selected major surgeries. You will provide emergency airway management, ventilation and acute pain services.
- You will work closely with Surgical and Emergency teams and have perioperative outpatient work on a 1:4 rotating roster.

Essential Criteria
- Eligible for ANZCA assessment with a substantial comparability outcome or eligible for the ESP
- Deliver evidence-based, best-practice clinical care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide clinical supervision, teaching and support to junior medical staff and relevant multidisciplinary team members, promoting safe and effective practice.
- Actively participate in the on-call roster for the department.
