Officers
- Package of up to $530k plus oncall allowances. Includes base salary, PPA, car and CPD allowances and superannuation.
Package includes managerial allowance, $22k CPD allowance, and up to $28k car allowance and private practice allowances.
You'll provide specialist clinical support in forensic psychiatry across inpatient and community settings, contributing to a culture of medical education and safe, patient-centred clinical practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide specialist clinical support in forensic psychiatry within a patient-centred approach.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Supervise junior medical staff, including their assessment skills, record-keeping, and response to emergencies.
- Contribute to quality assurance, clinical governance, audit, and critical incident review.
- Support education and training, including supervision of registrars, PHOs, junior doctors, and students.
- Prepare court documents and reports as required.
- Participate in the ECT roster covering Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital.
- Support research and research translation within the division.

- MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
- FRANZCP or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists - please contact me for more information. Applicants eligible for RANZCP AP or Ahpra ESP will be highly regarded or already assessed/registered on either.
- Specialist additional qualifications in Forensic psychiatry would be very useful.
- Strong clinical leadership experience in multidisciplinary mental health settings.
- Experience supervising and training junior medical staff.
- Commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement and safe patient care.
- Ability to contribute to service development, commissioning and medical workforce planning.
- Willingness to participate in the after-hours and on-call roster for Mental Health and Specialist Services.
