Consultant Plastic Surger opportunity, 1.5 hrs from Melbourne CBD. Earn up to $430k P.A.

Bendigo Hospital is a state-of-the-art, leading tertiary referral hospital. Built in 2018, with approximately 700 beds. It provides comprehensive services to a large catchment and is known for its modern infrastructure and collaborative clinical environment.

 

The department of surgery is seeking a suitably experienced Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon to join their rapidly growing service. This is an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career while contributing to a well-established department, with a strong focus on teaching and supporting the professional development of junior clinical staff.

 

You will work as a Consultant Surgeon within your defined scope of practice. The department offers genuine flexibility, welcoming interest from surgeons (FRACS or SIMG substantially comparable profiled) seeking either a full-time Staff Specialist position or a part-time fractional appointment. Part time interest will only apply to FRACS.

 

You will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients across the region, with the opportunity to play a key part in developing and expanding plastic and reconstructive services, as well as contributing to research within the department.

 

The position includes outpatient clinics alongside scheduled operating lists.

  • 38hr working week

Selection Criteria 

  • FRACS or SIMGs who have been assessed by RACS as substantially comparable or meet this profile with your training program and subsequent experience. 
  • Willingness to supervise and teach advanced trainees, junior medical staff, and students
  • First class communication skills
  • Willingness to participate in on - call roster
