A great opportunity for a consultant intensivist to work in a Beautiful coastal region of Australia. 

 

Geraldton is a coastal city in Western Australia’s Mid West region, known for its sunny climate and relaxed lifestyle. The area is surrounded by productive farmland and a rugged, unspoilt coastline, with easy access to beautiful beaches and the Abrolhos Islands just offshore. Geraldton is well connected with regular flights to Perth and road links via the Brand Highway. The city offers a laid-back pace of life, with a growing food and café scene, an attractive foreshore and a cost of living that remains more affordable than many larger Australian cities, while still offering all the amenities you’d expect from a modern regional city.

 


Geraldton Hospital is a modern regional facility in Western Australia’s Mid West region, around a one-hour flight from Perth. An opportunity is available for a Consultant/Specialist Intensivist to join a well-established and supportive multidisciplinary team, with scope to contribute to service development, clinical leadership and the ongoing growth of critical care services, while delivering high-quality care to the local community.

 

 

Remuneration package highlights

 

  • Competitive Salary Package of up to $534k. (Up to $514k from September 2025, then $534k from September 2026).
  • This is inclusive of 12% employer superannuation contributions and a generous professional development allowance.
  • Salary Packaging: Access to salary packaging arrangements up to $19,000 p.a.
  • Generous Leave Entitlements: 4 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks professional development leave, 10 days sick leave, plus other forms of leave for compassionate or cultural reasons.
  • Professional Development allowance of $33k per annum - paid with your salary.
  • Opportunity to supervise trainees, participate in quality improvement and research.

Selection Criteria

 

  • Hold FCICM or equivalent.
  • Have first class verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Have a personable and collaborative working style. 
  • Be experienced within MDT settings.
  • Be experienced in clinical governance initiatives and quality improvement activities.
