An opportunity is available for an Obstetrics & Gynaecology consultant in a major Queensland regional health service. This is a full-time role based in Toowoomba, joining a highly regarded Obstetrics & Gynaecology department with a strong reputation for teamwork, consultant support and high-quality patient care.
The position offers excellent breadth and variety across Obstetrics & Gynaecology, with exposure to regional referral practice and opportunities to develop rural skills. Consultants will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment delivering expert patient care while participating in a fairly distributed on-call roster.
The department includes 8 consultant Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and is known for its supportive colleague culture, balanced workload and commitment to professional development. The service offers opportunities to contribute to teaching, supervision, clinical governance, quality improvement and outreach services into rural communities.
Remuneration package highlights
- Up to $557k + oncall/overtime a package which includes:
- Motor vehicle allowance $23-28k depending on salary band - paid.
- 3.6 weeks professional development leave.
- $23k professional development allowance - paid.
- Very generous salary sacrifice arrangements.
- Employer paid tax free pension contributions - 12.5%

Selection Criteria
- FRANZCOG or equivalent specialist qualification.
- UK trained applicants eligible under expedited specialist pathway are highly regarded.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology appropriate to consultant level.
- Strong clinical capability across obstetric and gynaecological services.
- Commitment to quality assurance, patient safety and evidence-based clinical practice.
- Strong interpersonal and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff.
- Professional approach consistent with Senior Medical Practitioner standards.
- Interest in supporting clinical governance, service development or research activities.
- Willingness to participate in a balanced on-call roster.
- Interest in rural outreach and broader regional women’s health would be highly regarded.
